Lettrbox is a word puzzle game where Tetris meets Scrabble but adds some twists of its own! Drop letter tiles into the grid, clear them by making words with at least three letters, and prevent the grid from filling up.

How to Play

Use the left/right arrow keys or A/D keys to move the tile at the top of the screen left or right, and use the enter, down arrow, or S key to drop it into the grid. Create words with 3+ letters to remove tiles from the grid! The game ends when the grid fills up.

Tile Banking

Want to save a tile for later? Bank it using the up arrow or W key. If you already have a tile in the bank, it'll be swapped out.

Scoring

Longer words and rare letters give you more points, and high-scoring words can give you gem tiles, which provide a score bonus when used in a word! You can also get extra points for forming multiple words at once or for forming combos with consecutive words.

Once you reach Level 2, you can also try spelling the bonus word for a score boost!

Special Tiles

As you progress, several special tile types will be introduced to shake things up and gradually make it more difficult:

• Petrified Tiles: Can only be used in words with 4+ letters
• Warp Tiles: Randomize their letter each time you drop a tile without forming a word
• Mystery Tiles: Only reveals their letter after you drop it into the grid
• Mirror Tiles: Flips the gameboard horizontally when used in a word (can use an even number of them to cancel out the effect)
• Floating Tiles: Clings to the top of the board instead of falling to the bottom, but can be pushed down by other tiles
• ...and more! There are 13 special tile types in total which will be gradually unlocked over the course of the game (in addition to the 7 gem tile types which are available from the start).
